What inspired you to start a podcast?
My desire to share the love of God.
Tell us about your podcast.
Sharing In Your Journey is just that. It’s a way in which we can plainly see how the Word of God can fit into our everyday living and supplies us with want we need for the journey. God meets us right where we are, partners with us and journey’s with us to where we need to go.
How are you using your voice to inspire, empower or educate others?
I think it’s the simplicity of the Gospel. By definition the Gospel is Good News. If I can share this Good News message that Christ loves just one person and they receive it and benefit from it and grow from it or are encouraged by it, then it all will be worth it.
Tell us about one of your favorite episodes.
Well, so far, the favorite is the first. It took faith and courage to launch out and “do” what my initial doubts and fear said I cannot. Now, I am officially a podcaster.
What has been your biggest accomplishment as a podcaster so far?
I would have to say just getting started. It was a daunting undertaking initially but I had an amazing coach and mentor.
Where do you envision seeing your podcast a year from now?
I definitely envision it still being in existence. But my hope is possibly have sponsors but more importantly to have real feedback from actual listeners that have encountered God’s love through something that was shared here.
Who would be a dream guest and why?
Priscilla Shirer! She is a Preacher, Teacher, Author, Wife and Mother. From the outside looking in, she seems to have it all and she has struck a balance in ministry, business and family. I aspire to have those things. I believe that she is an example of it.
Name a few of the podcasts that you have in your rotation that are hosted by women of color?
Sistahs Connect Podcast – Kimberly Sumter
Therapy For Black Girls – Dr. Joy Harden Bradford
The Michelle Obama Podcast – Forever First Lady Michelle Obama
Aside from podcasting, what are you most passionate about?
Teaching. It is the one thing that I would do all day everyday whether or not I got paid.
How do you define success?
Having peace and all of my needs met.
