Podcaster: Angela V. McKnight

Mantra: Knowing is half the battle.

What inspired you to start a podcast?
I saw a void in women thanking themselves, so I decided that I would encourage and inspire women to thank themselves and become their own cheerleader as well as celebrate them to live an authentic life!

Tell us about your podcast.
I have a solo-based podcast where I talk about various topics including growth, ways of thanking one's self and sharing valuable resources. In addition, special guests interview to share stories of truth and gems.

How are you using your voice to inspire, empower or educate others?
I have a Facebook Group which I called the members “Beauties.” The group is a forum where we celebrate each other, learn how to thank ourselves, be a resource for women to help and support them with tools to enhance their personal development to live authentically.

Tell us about one of your favorite episodes.
It is alright to switch lanes! The term stay in your own lane is outdated and in life, switching lanes allows you to grow. In this episode, I was able to share various lane switches that have helped me grow into the person that I am today. It was very empowering and uplifting to go down memory lane. Another one was interviewing my daughter. The chemistry that we had just illuminated the love that we have for each other.

What has been your biggest accomplishment as a podcaster so far?
Launching my podcast! It is now a reality! I can say that I am a podcaster!

Where do you envision seeing your podcast a year from now?
I envision my podcast being listened to by hundreds of women who are empowered to thank themselves more including publicly especially women of color.

Who would be a dream guest and why?
The person who I would love to interview would be Oprah Winfrey. Why, to hear her gems about ways of keeping your foundation rooted. She is such an inspiration!

Name a few of the podcasts that you have in your rotation that are hosted by women of color?

  1. Sistahs Connect Podcast – Kimberly Sumter

  2. Natural to Natural Podcast – Simeko Hartley

  3. The Michelle Obama Podcast – Forever First Lady Michelle Obama

  4. Real and Random Podcast – Randomly Rasheeda

Aside from podcasting, what are you most passionate about?
Helping people from all walks of life.

How do you define success?

Success is defined by the person working towards success. Our life journey is unique and what maybe success to me, may not be success to the next person. Therefore, whatever metric a person’s sets and accomplish, this that is their success!
